Trustee
Being a Trustee is an honourable, but not an easy job. You may or may not have dedicated training, but certainly have valuable experience and positive energy and courage to take on responsibility and give back to the community.
There are many resources there to support you, like in the UK The National Council for Voluntary Organisations or indeed Charity Commission itself.
It is important to step back time to time and evaluate effectiveness of your Board and your contribution in particular. It is good practice to formally do a review every 3 years anyway, ideally with independant third-party support.
Some questions to ask yourself:
Do you have all necessary skills represented at the Board level?
Are you and the Board seeing the strategic picture?
Are you tracking right clear measures linked to the Purpose of the Charity?
Does the Charity have sufficient procedures to manage resources responsibly?
Some holistic opportunities:
Ensure Risks framework is vertically integrated and regularly reviewed by all Trustees
Apply formal operational and change governance with strategic reporting available to the Board
Conduct ad hoc reviews of specific assets, procedures, safeguards
